FAQ
How do I add a new variable?
Open Settings (the gear icon in the top-left of the main screen) and tap Add Variable. Give it a name, choose a type (Boolean for yes/no, Number for a slider), and tap Save. Full walkthrough →
Can I edit previous days?
Yes. Swipe left or right on the notes area at the bottom of the app, or tap a dot in the days bar at the top, to jump to any day, then change its variables or note as you would for today.
How does sync work?
Pick iCloud or WebDAV in Settings → Sync. iCloud needs no setup beyond being signed into iCloud. WebDAV asks for your server URL and credentials. After a change, Correlate waits 3 seconds of quiet before syncing automatically. More about sync →
Where is my data stored?
All data lives on your device as a single JSON file. If you enable sync, a copy is also stored in your iCloud account or on your WebDAV server. Correlate does not run any servers and has no access to your synced data.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Settings → Your Data → Export opens the iOS share sheet so you can save correlate.json anywhere. You can later re-import it on another device, or open it in any text editor or tool that reads JSON. Format reference →
How do I search my history?
Tap the magnifying glass in the header pill on the main screen. Build one or more criteria (variable, note, or date + an operator + a value), combined with AND or OR. Save searches you'll reuse. Search guide →
How do I share a PDF report with my doctor?
Open Settings → Your Data → Report, build a layout of graphs and saved searches, set the time range, and tap Generate PDF. iOS opens its share sheet so you can email, save to Files, AirPrint, or hand it to any other app. Reports guide →
What does the orange dot on the sync icon mean?
It means there are local changes that haven't synced yet. Correlate batches changes and syncs 3 seconds after you stop making edits. The orange dot disappears once everything is up.
What's a sensible "precision" for a Number variable?
For subjective ratings (mood, pain, energy on a 1–10 scale), 1 decimal is plenty; it gives you some space to record "a little less than yesterday". But don't stress about it; you can change the precision later - past data is preserved, future records use the new setting. More about precision →
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Email support@correlateapp.com with a description of the issue and the steps to reproduce it. If you can include the version number (shown at the bottom of Settings), that's a big help.
